when basf purchased rayon manufacturer phrix in 1967, vgf protested basf in breach of contract vgf in every way because of phrix acquisition. vgf concerned basf become serious competitor in market struggling falling prices, , warned feel free negotiate more aggressively on prices willing pay chemicals. in 1968 aku merged glanzstoff, had been producing cordenka rayon tire yarns in obernburg since 1938, , formed enka glanzstoff.


ernst hellmut vits became chairman of aku supervisory board in 1969.
