there 2 bridges across mainland: cortez bridge, brings state road 684 bradenton beach cortez, , manatee avenue bridge, brings state road 64 holmes beach palma sola section of bradenton.


anna maria island served free trolley-style bus runs north , south on gulf drive. trolley connects both mcat (manatee county area transit) system serving greater bradenton area, , scat (sarasota county area transit) system. mcat connects trolley @ manatee public beach, @ intersection of state road 789 , state road 64. scat connects trolley @ coquina beach, @ south end of anna maria island, before longboat key bridge. several local taxi companies serve anna maria island.


anna maria island accessible boat until 1921, when wooden cortez bridge constructed fishing village of cortez bridge street in bradenton beach. remaining parts of cortez bridge used fishing pier.
