in next season, oxford again qualified final, time face royal engineers @ kennington oval on 14 march 1874. vidal played again, setting charles mackarness s goal oxford university romped 2–0 victory. vidal became person have played in 3 of first fa cup finals. however, never played in final again. university side reached semi-finals in next year, 1875, engineers exacted revenge winning 1–0.
he received 1 cap england. cap came in second official international football match, against scotland on 8 march 1873 england won 4–2.
