in 2000, un security council concluded that, of june 16, 2000, israel had withdrawn forces lebanon in accordance resolution 425.


lebanon has not extended control on south lebanon, though called on resolution 1391 of 2002 , urged resolution 1496. israel has lodged multiple complaints regarding lebanon s conduct.


lebanon s claim israel has not withdrawn (see shebaa farms) explicitly rejected un s secretary-general s report led resolution 1583. syrian occupation of lebanon led un security council resolution 1559 demanding remaining 14,000 (of 50,000 originally) syrian troop withdrawal , dismantling of hezbollah , palestinian militias. on april 26, 2005, after 29 years of syrian military presence in lebanon, last of syrian troops withdrew in accordance resolution.
