joshua humphreys, second ship of henry j. kaiser class, specially built military sealift command (msc). laid down @ avondale shipyard, inc., @ new orleans, louisiana, on 17 december 1984 , launched on 22 february 1986. entered non-commissioned u.s. navy service civilian crew on 3 april 1987.
