the chateau of ambleville built in 14th century , burned insurgents opposed gabelle (salt tax) in 1548. rebuilt later @ le chateau. remains of original walls still existed in middle of 19th century , beginning of 20th century @ place called le vieux chateau (the old castle). there no trace today.
the commune has 6 old lavoirs (public laundries) interesting being @ la voûte , la roumade. there many wells including 2 remarkable ones on 2 private properties @ guineuf.
