iran automatically qualified @ championship since semi-finalists in last edition in 2012. jesús team faced indonesia in first match , won 5–1, defeated china score of 12-0, , australia 8–1. iran advanced next round 9 points, defeated vietnam in quarter-finals. in semi-final, iran played uzbekistan score of 10–0. lost japan on penalties, after leading japan 2-1 later hamid ahmadi scored own goal equalized match. iran finished runner-up, having scored more comparing previous edition. iran scored 52 goals , conceded 8 goals in whole tournament.
