early career

born in stratford, prince edward island, hughes met edge, christian , glen kulka @ local gym while touring canadian independent promotions during late 1990s. after expressing interest in professional career, 3 encouraged him , kulka suggested contacting promoter emile dupre begin training.


during 1998, hughes began training under handsome hubert gallant , cuban assassin among other wrestlers in dupre s grand prix promotion in shediac, new brunswick (he later befriend fellow student kingman, both of whom become charter members of kardinal sinners 2 years later).


real action wrestling

making debut in grand prix wrestling in 1999 later touring leo burke , beast, traveled united states brief stint in ewa before returning maritime territory , establishing real action wrestling promoter skot gallant same year. although planning tour puerto rico, convinced gallant jump raw , promote promotion resulting in grand prix promoter emile dupre blacklisting hughes promotion , maritime territory.


after promotion sold warren olsen in 2000, hughes stayed promotion , won promotion s heavyweight championship. during next 2 years, , heel stable kardinal sinners including natural bobby rude, kingman , acadian giant dominated promotion until close in july 2002.


recent years

after competing on independent circuit time, began wrestling semi-regularly british promotion all-star wrestling in january 2002. making appearance on wwe heat in may 2003, later compete in first ever maritime cup tournament in october 2003 making way finals before losing current smackdown live star bobby roode.


in 2004, brought international wrestling association in puerto rico luke williams. facing many of top stars in promotion including apolo , ricky banderas, win promotion s hardcore title. hughes invite participate in prestigious catch tournament held in hanover germany alongside of such notables dave taylor, kendo kashin, robbie brookside, lash leroux, , rick steiner. following tournament returned puerto rico.


in 2006, hughes travelled california japanese mma fighter, kazuyuki fujita train return pride on may 5 in bout against england s james colossus thompson. fujita went on win bout via ko in round 1 @ 8:25. hughes traveled japan in september compete @ new japan pro wrestling s g1 climax, defeat japanese legend mr.saito in debut @ sumo hall under name hangman hughes. hughes later returned japan , toured new japan pro-wrestlings tag partnered harry smith. in 2007, appeared on documentary television series wrestling reality featured many canadian independent wrestlers including “wildman” gary williams, sidewinder, marisa, titus , krysta lynn scott. hughes appeared in documentary tv series named after , peter smiths tag team kardinal sinners alongside gary williams, smith, rick doyle , british wrestler frankie sloan.


he , brody steele, former member of kardinal sinners, defeated yoshihiro tajiri , hiroshi nagao wwa korea world tag team championship on may 14, 2007.


on september 30, 2007, defeated duke macisaac in north sydney, nova scotia win ecpw heavyweight championship.

in 2009, hughes started own wrestling promotion called red rock wrestling (rrw). first show on friday, may 29, 2009 @ stratford town hall gymnasium in stratford, prince edward island. faced titus , came out winner, rrw s second show held on friday, september 25, 2009 @ stratford town hall. teamed rory mcallister face titus , partner, won there.


hughes still wrestles in red rock wrestling (http://redrockwrestling.com) , current champion (2014). 2014 season begin in april , expected face several heavyweights including brody steele.
