at 2009 transtasman swimming meet, ashwood beat kiwi phoebe williams finish first in 800-metre freestyle event. @ 2009 australian youth olympic festival, lost kelly marquenie in women s 800-metre freestyle event. finished second in women s 400-metre freestyle event. @ 2011 queensland state championships, came in second in women s 800-metre freestyle event, finishing 7 seconds behind winner. @ 2011 national championships, time of 16:14.47, finished second in 1500-metre freestyle secured spot on national team going world championships. @ 2011 world swimming championships, in national team debut, did not make out of semifinals in 1,500-metre. @ 2011 junior pan pacific championships, finished third in 400-metre freestyle time of 4:12.47. @ 2012 australian national championships, finished second in women s 800-metre freestyle time of 8:27.97. 18-year-old, selected represent australia @ 2012 summer olympics in 800-metre freestyle event in first games.


at 2016 summer olympics, ashwood represented australia in both 400m & 800m freestyle. won silver medal part of women s 4 × 200m freestyle team.
