the oregon coast aquarium s collection focuses on flora , fauna native oregon coast. aquarium accredited association of zoos , aquariums.


main building

exhibits in main building include 4 permanent displays: sandy shores, rocky shores, coastal waters, , changing exhibit area. first features fish , invertebrates live either close shore or in bays such yaquina bay. progressing, aquarium displays feature animals further offshore ending in kelp forest , sea jelly exhibit. flanking permanent displays changing exhibits.

the largest exhibit passages of deep , in keiko s former tank, features walk-through acrylic tubes surrounded deep water marine animals such sharks, rays, , rockfish.


passages of deep created in keiko s former home, , has 3 sections. orford reef contains rockfish , other smaller pacific-northwest fish. halibut flats contains halibut, ling cod, small ray, , other large fish, , includes mock sunken ship. open sea last section in tunnel, , holds many species of sharks including 7 gill sharks, rays, mackerel, anchovies , salmon.


seabird aviary

the aviary @ oregon coast aquarium exhibits sea , shore birds. on display include seabirds tufted puffin, common murre, rhinoceros auklet, pigeon guillemot, , shore bird black oystercatcher. seabird aviary includes 2 large pools , rocky cliffs.


outdoor exhibits

the aquarium has largest outdoor seabird aviary in north america, home tufted , horned puffins, black oystercatchers, common murres, rhinoceros auklets , pigeon guillemots. aquarium exhibits 2 turkey vultures in separate outdoor area. outdoor exhibits showcase marine mammal species native oregon coast, including sea otters, harbor seals , california sea lions. outdoor mammal exhibits. contain sea otters, harbor seals, , sea lions. there coastal cave houses giant pacific octopus. rocks in outdoor exhibit artificial rocks constructed of gunite. aquarium home nature trail overlooks yaquina bay estuary , features native plants , free-roaming wildlife.
