student life
community service

ugm organizes community service called kkn-ppm, obligatory undergraduate students. kkn-ppm research-based community service offered 3 times each academic year, in middle of both odd semester , semester , between these 2 semesters. not local students joining kkn, international academicians, including lecturers , students, involved in kkn-ppm ugm. in 2011, 150 international students participated in kkn-ppm, coming many countries, such south korea, australia, france, usa , norway.


other activities

the sports activities unit coordinated secretariat of joint sports, , arts unit coordinated joint secretariat of arts.


sports activities include swimming, diving, inkai karate, kenpō, indonesian martial art pencak silat (including variants of pencak silat merpati putih, self periasi pencak silat, pencak silat pro patria, , pencak silat setia hati terate), taekwondo, judo, hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, athletics, equestrian, bridge, badminton, chess, , tennis.


arts activities include arts gaya yogyakarta (swagayugama), art style surakarta, balinese dance, creative dance, photography, gamma band, marching band, ‘’keroncong’’, student choir, theatre, , others arts.


other activities include publisher student press agency, mapagama, student health unit, scout, satmenwa, cooperative students kopma ugm , , aiesec.


spirituality activities include unit of islamic spirituality (jama saladin), unit of catholic spirituality, christian spirituality unit, hindu spirituality unit, buddhism , spiritual unit.


reasoning activities include interdisciplinary unit of scientific reasoning, gama scholar reasoning unit, , english debating society.


other facilities

ugm campus mosque mosque owned ugm , situated within campus. designed entirely students of ugm architecture engineering department. holds maximum capacity of 10,000 pilgrims, making 1 of largest mosques in southeast asia.


madya stadium, softball/baseball field, , tennis courts located in valley of ugm. stadium can used football, athletics, hockey, , other activities. these facilities available ugm students, staff , public.


the student center hall used sports activities such basketball, volleyball, badminton, , martial arts, , exhibitions , artistic performances.


the open field in valley of ugm can used musical performances or other student activities require wide open space.
