on 28 august 1945, cruiser departed subic bay china coast. after show of force in yellow sea , gulf of pohai areas, covered minesweeping operations, , on 8 october anchored @ inchon, korea. 13–16 october, participated in show of force operation in gulf of pohai area, returned inchon, rear admiral jerauld wright, commander, crudiv 6, acted senior member of committee surrender of japanese naval forces in korea.


on 27 november, san francisco headed home. arriving @ san francisco in mid-december, continued on east coast on 5 january 1946, , arrived @ philadelphia, pennsylvania inactivation on 19 january. decommissioned on 10 february, berthed philadelphia group of atlantic reserve fleet until 1 march 1959, when name struck naval vessel register. on 9 september, sold union mineral , alloys corp., new york, , scrapped @ panama city, florida in 1961.
