since 2007 mayhew has devised , presented classical music concerts children many different orchestras, ensembles , soloists. these events incorporate narration , live illustration, painted in time music, , projected. have included peter , wolf, firebird, swan lake, pictures @ exhibition, young person s guide orchestra, planets, william tell , scheherazade. in 2016 made debut @ royal albert hall.


mayhew s collaborations include concerts carducci quartet, orchestra of music makers singapore, docklands sinfonia, chetham s symphony orchestra, baroque specialists realm of music, , russian pianist alexander ardakov. in 2013 designed sets , costumes major production of opera noye s fludde in tewkesbury abbey, celebrate benjamin britten s centenary year, , part of role guest director of 2013 cheltenham music festival.


in february 2017 composer bernard hughes adapted mayhew s knight took day concert work orchestra , narrator. mayhew himself narrated (and illustrated) world premiere hertford symphony orchestra. later month departed usual classical concerts join singer-songwriter tanita tikaram @ barbican centre in london. mayhew painted 2 songs: glass love train , cathedral song.


in july 2017, mayhew performed, narrator, in world premiere performances of new orchestral work children, wrote script: caretaker s guide orchestra. music composed jeremy holland-smith , performed docklands sinfonia. performances directed royal ballet choregrapher/director tuckett.
