at time of death on october 1, 1910, huyler had 54 stores across america, supplied 14 candy factories employing 2,000 people.


benjamin f. deklyn, associate of john huyler in formation of candy company, sold thirty shares of stock in huyler s inc., frank deklyn huyler , coulter d. huyler, sons of founder, in 1910, $349,000. other sons john s. huyler jr., youngest , david huyler. former died after father before reaching age of 21. in accounting filed in new york surrogate court on october 21, 1926, trust fund left john s. huyler 3 sons found have increased 100% on previous thirteen years. on same period huyler s widow, mrs. rosa f. huyler cooke, received $390,000 $500,000 trust fund.


the huyler building, built in buffalo in 1926, listed on national register of historic places in 2012.
