on january 18, 2013, marasciulo made first independent appearance since wwe release, when worked hart legacy wrestling (hlw) promotion in calgary, alberta, canada. in opening four-way elimination tag team match, marasciulo, still working trent barreta, teamed brian cage, 2 being eliminated el generico , samuray del sol. later in main event of evening, barreta teamed davey boy smith, jr., el generico, jack evans , samuray del sol in ten man tag team match, defeated teddy hart, brian cage, cam!kaze, flip kendrick , pete wilson. on march 22, 2013, on april 6, trent? made debut dragon gate usa, defeating jon davis via disqualification. on april 26, barreta made debut full impact pro, defeating ar fox. on july 5, 2013, barreta made return full impact pro (fip) @ declaration of independence, defeated fip world heavyweight champion jon davis disqualification. on august 9, barreta defeated davis in rematch become new fip world heavyweight champion.


on october 12, 2013, trent made debut in family wrestling entertainment (fwe) bandido jr. in match fwe tag team championship. however, champions retained. on december 6, barreta defended fip world heavyweight championship against lince dorado.


on february 22, barreta unsuccessfully challenged johnny gargano open freedom gate championship. in march 2014, trent? took part in german promotion westside xtreme wrestling s 16 carat gold weekend. during second day on march 15, , matt striker defeated hot & spicy (axel dieter jr. , da mack) win wxw world tag team championship. they, however, lost title hot & spicy next day.


on november 14, 2014, during wwnlive s tour of china, barreta lost fip world heavyweight championship rich swann.


on may 13, 2015, global force wrestling (gfw) announced barreta part of roster. made debut promotion @ gfw s first-ever event on june 12, , chuck taylor defeated tate twins (brandon , brent).


on june 24, 2017; rocky romero rippongi vice defeated guerrillas of destiny @ wrestlecircus dive hard vengeance become wrestlecircus big top tag-team champions.
