north korea marks tree planting day on march 2, when people across country plant trees. day considered combine traditional asian cultural values of country s dominant communist ideology.


in south korea, april 5, arbor day (sikmogil, 식목일), public holiday until 2005. though sikmogil no longer official holiday, day still celebrated, south korean public continuing take part in tree-planting activities.
