adult red-tailed triggerfish (xanthichthys ringens) occur @ reefs , banks, juveniles associated sargassum.


triggerfish lay demersal eggs in small hole dug in sea bottom. off florida, juveniles of species of triggerfishes found in floating sargassum, feed on small shrimp, crabs , mollusks found there.
