in 1952, lightship ambrose (wlv 613) commissioned , became last lightship mark ambrose channel when replaced texas tower lightstation on 24 august 1967. reassigned relief ship on massachusetts coastline 1967–75. after being renamed relief (1967 1980) , nantucket ii (1980 1983) reassigned nantucket shoals. alternated sister ship, lightship nantucket (wlv 612), on station relieving each other approximately every 21 days , retired in 1983 after 31 years of service. wlv 613 had various assignments following retirement including being used public relation events , law enforcement missions. sold new england historic seaport on 7 july 1984 , present rededication ceremony statue of liberty in 1986. 2006 sold wareham steamship corporation , berthed on main street in wareham, massachusetts.
