georgia opened 2011 season against boise state broncos in chick-fil-a kickoff game held in georgia dome. matchup second in both schools history, previous meeting being in 2005 georgia won 48–13 in athens. game got off slow start, until georgia scored first late in first quarter. however, in second half, boise state able pull away 3 touchdowns make final score 35–21. notably, both teams wore nike pro combat jerseys part of agreement.



south carolina


georgia s first conference game against south carolina gamecocks, defending champion of sec s eastern division. despite major improvements following boise state game, 3 carolina 3 turnovers, bulldogs failed win first game of season.



coastal carolina


following 2 losses, georgia looked first victory on fcs chanticleers. first time since 2000, game not sold out. however, georgia outplayed chanticleers first win first shutout since 2010 win on vanderbilt commodores.



ole miss
