monsoonal rains brought along depression caused widespread flooding in southern india. hardest hit area kerala 60 people killed. within state, 2 landslides in pathanamthitta district killed 15 people while flooding in kollam district , thiruvananthapuram claimed 23 lives. more 3,000 homes damaged across state , indian army deployed assist in relief efforts. of damage concentrated along neyyar , kallada rivers burst banks. @ least 3,000 people sought refuge in shelters set in thiruvananthapuram.
