neverwinter nights: shadows of undrentide (sou) released in june 2003. added 5 prestige classes, sixteen new creatures (two of them available additional familiars), 3 new tilesets, more thirty new feats, more fifty new spells, , additional scripting abilities using aurora toolkit. expansion pack features story line concerning student sent out recover stolen magical objects. story begins in silver marches, moving toward desert of anauroch , old netherese city of undrentide.
neverwinter nights: hordes of underdark (hotu) released in december 2003. increased maximum character level 40, , added number of spells , items appropriate such characters, adding further tilesets, prestige classes, feats, , abilities, , compatibility intel pentium 4 processor, unsupported in previous versions. story continued shadows of undrentide ended, character of @ least 15th level, , led vast subterranean world known underdark. first chapter of story took place in undermountain dungeon beneath city of waterdeep.
neverwinter nights: kingmaker released in november 2004, , features 3 premium modules: award-winning kingmaker, shadowguard, , witch s wake.

atari , bioware helped promote , release free downloadable hakpaks, models, , tileset expansion packs, expanded possibilities of mod-making.
the players resource consortium (prc) released in december 2003, , group of hakpaks adding classes, races, skills, , spells game. prc has 3 times number of prestige classes original game had. adds dozens of epic spells, , many normal spells make better use of bioware s aurora engine. psionic powers have been included.
the community expansion pack (cep), released in march 2004 (last updated in january 2017), based on neverwinter nights community s fan-made material. freely downloadable expansion compiled members of community. combines selection of released custom content 1 group of hakpaks.
premium modules
in late 2004, bioware launched online store , started selling called premium modules part of digital distribution program. initiative led bioware s live team lead designer, rob bartel. these smaller-scale adventures introduced new storylines , gameplay, , include new music , art bioware integrated later patches core game. according bioware, revenue generated sales of premium modules used support fan community , provide ongoing updates , improvements game. modules sold in bioware store require active internet connection play, when played in single player mode. modules in kingmaker expansion stripped of requirement, available windows systems. modules included neverwinter nights diamond edition not require internet access play. in august 2009, bioware discontinued selling of premium modules due request made atari. atari has not yet provided alternative means acquire modules.
on june 16, 2011, neverwinter nights digital rights management (drm) authentication server temporarily taken down reaction electronic arts neverwinter nights store being hacked , customer data stolen. premium modules purchased via bioware s store not played during time because not connect server validate purchase, though drm-free modules unaffected. exact duration of temporary outage has not been documented. modules kingmaker, shadowguard, , witch s wake sold part of diamond edition package. modules infinite dungeons, pirates of sword coast, , wyvern crown of cormyr sold drm.

neverwinter nights: witch s wake - remastered version of rob bartel s popular story-oriented module same name added new subraces, music, , substantial voice-acting throughout. game features story of character lost memories , awakens on field of battle. sequel, witch s wake ii: witch hunters, in development, canceled.
neverwinter nights: pirates of sword coast – in june 2005, bioware announced upcoming release of new premium module. story begins in city of neverwinter, , leads lengthy ship-borne, swashbuckling-style adventure.
neverwinter nights: infinite dungeons – in may 2006, bioware released module taking place in undermountain area below waterdeep. main feature randomly generated dungeons, suitable levels of adventurer. module designed single , multiplayer gaming. exception of ability respawn 1 s character, infinite dungeons similar 3 dimensional roguelike.
neverwinter nights: wyvern crown of cormyr – in september 2006, bioware announced new premium module. features ridable horses, flowing cloaks, tabards , long coats, new prestige class (the purple dragon knight), , extensive new art, creatures, , tilesets.

darkness on daggerford – in august 2006, ossian studios inc., headed alan miranda, former producer @ bioware, released second canceled premium module vault. story takes place in , around daggerford , has been compared favorably baldur s gate 2 in terms of scope. characters start @ 8th level. module includes cinematic intro (like main campaign) , world map. darkness on daggerford s status quasi-official expansion pack supported next release of team, time official one: mysteries of westgate neverwinter nights 2.
