turgor pressure within stomata regulates when stomata can open , close, has play in transpiration rates of plant. important because function regulates water loss within plant. lower turgor pressure can mean cell has low water concentration , closing stomata preserve water. high turgor pressure keeps stomata open gas exchanges necessary photosynthesis.
