1993 – 1997

the group played first show j. quest inspired cartoon jonny quest, idea of bassist pj (though none of members fans of cartoon). @ time, group played bar circuit , schools of belo horizonte , gathered more 2,000 people per show. this, band gaining ground. next contract sony music came, , first official cd released in august 1996. bar band s successful song rendition of dores mundo ( pains of world ), huge hit bahian soulman hyldon in 70s. entered charts, followed other singles, while band toured brazil. on first tour, band members came on stage wearing black power wigs. hit first album encontrar alguém ( meet ), disco. success, took while them on television. on 11 january 1997, invited presenter xuxa perform @ called xuxa hits , belonged rede globo television. first performance of jota quest on tv.

1998 – 1999

the band s second release de volta ao planeta ( planet ), more conventionally poprock, spawning more hit singles, signature song fácil ( easy – no relation commodores song). album s title song de volta ao planeta (the planet , in case referring planet of apes) monkey noises backgrounding chorus. album became brazilian best-seller. tour marked first brazilian solar energy supplied live show, project greenpeace. in 2009, title track of album used in hugely successful telenovela caras & bocas, resulting in song receiving moderate airplay on brazilian radio , short stay on national charts.

2000 – 2001

a relative commercial failure, due band s previous sales figures, association internet provider (which bankrupted) advertising fanta. band tried new direction on third record, ecological oriented , experimental release called oxigênio ( oxygen ). moved away dance floor, increased production values, experimental songwriting , sponsored greatest coca-cola marketing campaign in latin america. brazilian grammy winner singer milton nascimento recorded band on album song destes tantos modos . although album went platinum largely considered hodgepodge.

2001 – 2004

in 2001, returned original formula bass guitar grooves, funk rock guitar riffs , beautiful lyrics discotecagem pop variada ( eclectic pop disco ), fourth album. jota quest recaped bar band feeling hits na moral (in groove) , ballad só hoje (only today). in 2002, rogério flausino invited disney sing brazilian version of treasure planet’s soundtrack. song called estou aqui (i m still here in english). success of last record, jota quest recorded on days 1 , 2 may 2003, cd , dvd mtv ao vivo @ praça papa, in belo horizonte, broadcast mtv brasil. first live record of group, mtv ao vivo gathered biggest hits of band , had special participation of arnaldo antunes , thaíde. in same year, ones in latin america invited participate in soundtrack of movie spider-man 2, had version cartoon (re-recorded earlier ramones , aerosmith). lyrics made rogério flausino .

2005 – 2008

ten years after launching first cd, band consolidated in brazilian pop rock’s scenario. altogether there 5 cds, thousands of shows , attendance records on brazil, presentations in u.s. , in europe, attended opening of rock in rio lisboa (lisbon), sharing stage carlos santana , roger waters. after 4 years without releasing cd new material, group got isolated in studio in belo horizonte record album até onde vai (how far goes), arrived @ stores in october 2005, , since then, remains between country s best-selling cds. album fused rock , funk elements , contained cover version of brazilian singer roberto carlos s além horizonte ( beyond horizon ) became major hit. album produced further string of hit singles, receiving heavy rotation on brazilian radio stations, including: o sol ( sun ), palavras de um futuro bom @ tail-end of 2006, , já foi in first half of 2007. album 7th annual latin grammy nominated. lead singer rogerio flausino invited sing in english on electronic dance act layo , bushwacka s 2006 album. in 2007, rogério flausino received multishow award being best singer in brazil. in same year on 13 august, became father, having first daughter, nina. até onde vai toure longest 1 of jota quest.

2008 – present (2012)

in 2008, band released album la plata, recorded in studio iron ore, 3 years after last record. cd became successful on radio songs la plata , on soundtrack of tv globo’s soap opera cama de gato , , ballad vem andar comigo (come walk me), played, , theme of soap opera caras e bocas ,

in late july, third single seis e trinta (six , thirty) released on radio , music video came out in september. @ end of november 2009 ballad Único olhar released, seventh track of la plata. in 2010 tudo me faz lembar você (everything reminds me of you) released soundtrack of film muita calma nessa hora .

in second half of 2010, jota quest launched hispanic market first spanish album, entitled dias mejores . album released first in argentina. in march 2011, jota quest announced tour commemorating 15-year career. j15 – 15 anos na moral kind of five-hour-long party, band present three-hour show 3 new tracks. project released on cd / dvd. quinze collection released in may , has 2 cds , 30 tracks, among 3 hits , new songs. in 2012, quinze awarded latin grammy best brazilian contemporary pop album, first grammy award in group s career.
