morehouse s debate team formed in 1906 , has won many accolades since founding. in 2005, morehouse college became member of american mock trial association (amta). school 1 of 4 competing teams come historically black college , all-male team in amta. 2006 2010, morehouse consecutively won regional championship competitions, , received direct trips amta national championship competitions in iowa, florida, , minnesota.


in 2016, morehouse became first hbcu, georgia institution, , men s college chosen host annual u.s. universities debating championship had 200 teams across nation participate.
