beth israel s former synagogue, on teutonia avenue, in use 1925 1960


beth israel sold fifth street building in 1924, and, after meeting in temporary quarters year, constructed new building @ 2432 north teutonia avenue. however, jewish community of milwaukee migrated north suburbs in 1940s , 1950s, location became inconvenient. in 1957, 15-acre (6.1 ha) property purchased @ 6880 north green bay avenue in glendale, suburb north of milwaukee, , construction began on new facilities there in 1959. teutonia avenue building sold in 1959, , vacated in 1960. on march 5, 1992 added national register of historic places.
