quazi johirul islam born on 10 february 1968 in khagatua, village in upazila of nabinagar under brahmanbaria district of bangladesh. grew during bangladesh liberation war, , literary works reflect growing of new nation , newly born middle class society in dhaka city. first work of fiction, 71 and, written based memories of bangladesh liberation war. lost paternal uncle mr. suruj quazi in 1971. studied in many different schools, including govt titumir college. received master s degree in management university of dhaka in 1992 after break of study of 2 years. father unsuccessful businessman; result, islam supposed take on financial responsibility of family.


islam international un professional. has worked on 20 years many different ngos, un agencies , un peacekeeping operations.


he married on 29 march 1996, while wife studying journalism @ university of dhaka @ master’s level. first child, son, born after year of marriage on 28 april 1997. 7 years later, on 18 january 2004, daughter, born.


in autobiography bihongoprobon, islam states wanted prophet in childhood changed mind after house-tutor told him there no way prophet. decided become poet, considers close prophet.
