history
bnl years

founded in 2001, dundee stars won findus british national league (fbnl) , playoffs in first season (2001–02) , ranked 2nd in fbnl, top playoff group , reached semi-finals of challenge cup following season. stars third season disappointment compared previous two, low league position , place in final of capital cup.


season 2004–05 disappointing 3 scottish teams in bnl. national cup, keyline cup , challenge cup no better. however, stars won playoffs , fared in caledonia cup.


post bnl years: snl

in 2005 edinburgh capitals , newcastle vipers decided resign bnl in order join premier elite league. leave bnl 5 teams; , little option fold, capitals , vipers temporarily withdrew applications allow remaining bnl teams apply eihl status. however, terms not agreed between eihl , remaining 5 bnl teams; leading capitals , vipers resubmit original applications , join eihl; resulted in closure of bnl. led stars, along fellow former bnl team fife flyers, move scottish national league. stars refusal of eihl s terms due local rival, fife flyers, being unable join eihl due arena not meeting eihl s standards. decided stars not join eihl @ time unless flyers allowed join them. in joining snl stars had release of imported players in order meet snl rules.


during first season, fife won snl stars 3 points behind in 2nd. flyers won autumn cup, northern league , snl playoffs. season 2006–07 introduced nhl style 0 tolerance rules , 1 import rule intent of making snl more skillful league. stars have relied heavily on junior development many under-19s , under-16s playing managing secure services of 2 of old favourites, jeff marshall (canada) , patric lochi (italy).


eihl years

in late april 2010, dundee stars confirmed had been accepted eihl, leagues 2nd expansion team 2010–11 season.
