the production of going attractions: definitive story of american drive-in movie lengthy process wright. growing outside of chicago, wright loved go drive-in family in summer. when drive-ins began close down, wright became fascinated abandoned structures. motivated april begin shooting documentary, took 7 years complete. during time, wright performed research on history , cultural impact of drive-ins, including economic , sociological effects. took cross-country road trips every state except alaska, , shot interviews people prominent in drive-in industry. documentary has been invited festivals, such independence film, art , music festival, independence, mo, centrepiece film on august 9 , 10, 2013
