in korean cuisine, chamchwi along other chwinamul varieties used main ingredient of herbal side dishes called namul. 1 of ingredients feature in bibimbap recipes. can used herb in kimchi, rice, , korean-style italian pasta dishes. used ssam vegetable.

chwinamulbokkeum – type of bokkeum, made parboiling , stir-frying young leaves of chamchwi ground beef, chopped scallions, vegetable oil, , toasted sesame seeds.
chwinamulkimchi – type of kimchi, made soaking chamchwi in brine 3 days, seasoning soybean starch, liquorice broth, julienned red chilli, , minced ginger.
chwinamulmuchim – type of namul, made blanching young chamchwi, squeezing drain water, , seasoning chopped scallions, chopped garlic, soup soy sauce, perilla oil, , toasted sesame seeds. can seasoned gochujang or doenjang, maesilcheong(plum syrup), vinegar, , sesame oil.
chwissam – type of wrap dish, made wrapping julienned , stir-fried pork, balloon flower roots, eastern brakenfern, green chilli, , carrot stir-fried chamchwi, binding wraps wild chive.
chwitteok – type of tteok(rice cake), made pounding soaked rice , blanched chamchwi powder, steaming them, , pounding steamed cake again. tteok brushed sesame oil.
insam chwinamul – type of namul, made seasoning blanched ginseng , blanched, soaked, , drained chwinamul soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped scallions, , minced garlic, , stir-frying them. toasted sesame seeds sprinkled on top before served.
