Plot Erik the Conqueror

in 786 ad, 3 large viking ships land in england. king harald (folco lulli), viking chieftain interested in maintaining peace, makes plea king loter (franco ressel). english king sends sir rutford (andrea checchi) work out deal vikings. rutford stages surprise attack on vikings. king harald felled arrow fired rutford s chief assassin. during battle, harold s 2 young sons, erik , eron, whisked away 1 of chiefs. eron rescued erik left behind in chaos.


later, king loter arrives on scene, threatens strip rutford of title. rutford retaliates having assassin kill loter arrow. loter s wife, queen alice (françoise christophe), wanders away. finds erik hiding on beach. queen decides raise erik own son.


20 years later, vikings once again wage war against england. adult eron (cameron mitchell ), has fallen in love vestal virgin named daya (ellen kessler), identical twin sister of vestal rama (alice kessler). hide love out of fear of being executed. eron tells daya king permitted marry vestal. viking leader king olaf (jean-jacques delbo) makes pact kingdoms of iceland, norway, , sweden invade england once again. due age, olaf appoints younger lead attack. olaf chooses eron choice contested garian (joe robinson). garian wishes elected leader, , vote 100 warriors taken. olaf declares have fight death. eron victorious refuses kill opponent, asking garian serve right-hand man.


in england, adult erik (giorgio ardisson) appointed duke of helford , leader of english sea forces, replacing sir rutford. rutford plants agent on board set fire erik s ship while @ sea.


the viking , english fleets meet in north sea , sea battle begins. vikings board erik s flagship agent sets fire it. in battle, erik , eron meet , engage in sword fight. erik s ship catches fire. erik jumps overboard , later washes ashore in viking land. found rama. rama points erik in direction of local fishing village, accepted vikings shipwrecked fisherman.


back in england, sir rutford proposes marriage queen, rebuffs him. eron , men arrive. eron appoints rutford regent , takes queen alice hostage viking land. there, rama assigned after queen alice. rama notices queen wears cross , mentions erik. demanding know prisoner s name, erik shocked find s mother .


the next day, eron , daya married. erik watches wedding ceremony, mistakenly believes rama being married. enraged imagined affront , erik confronts daya, doesn t know him. erik locked away king olaf executed following morning.


rama drugs erik s guards, explains him woman saw married twin sister, , cuts him free. while flee, eron , horde of vikings give pursuit. eron falls death erik, urged rama, rescues him death. eron continues pursue them erik , rama meet queen alice , safely sail england.


erik gathers combined english-scottish force attack rutford s castle finds eron , vikings have arrived before him. erik challenges eron duel. eron accepts, leaving daya in rutford s care. in ensuing sword fight, eron catches sight of tattoo on erik s chest , recognises him brother. declares ceasefire, upsetting rutford, responds having henchman fire arrow @ erik. eron throws himself in path of arrow , fatally wounded. enraged vikings attempt storm castle, rutford raises drawbridge , threatens kill daya next morning if vikings not disband.


as eron lies dying, names erik successor. becoming more , more delirious, asks see daya 1 last time. erik determines breaking out of castle. erik scales castle wall. meanwhile, rama realizes dying eron not last longer , poses sister him. eron oblivious deception and, upon declaring love her, dies.


erik makes way castle, rescues daya. @ dawn, combined viking, english , scottish armies attack castle, scaling walls , slaughtering defenders. of rutford s men killed, rutford himself being last fall when attempts throw spear @ escaping eron pierced @ least dozen viking arrows.


with peace restored, queen alice reclaims throne , allows erik leave england claim title king of vikings. erik returns viking land rama, while daya sails alone dead eron.
